Update: March Archangel Card Reading Giveaway Contest!

I have not one, but two winners this month!

One slight glitch, although it’s not a biggie. When I originally posted the contest details, I stated that the reading would be sent to the winner by Saturday, April 4th.

However, as of last week, my plans have changed and I will be attending James Van Praagh’s Soul Retreat this weekend. So, there will be a slight delay in getting the readings done and e-mailed. It should be no more than a week. My apolgies for the delay.

From the workshop description:

From a very young age, James Van Praagh was aware of a dimension that most of us cannot see, and he has dedicated his life to explaining it to the rest of us. In this exclusive workshop, he takes us on a journey into the various aspects of our soul, offering us a unique opportunity to embrace our own powers of healing and insight.

With Van Praagh’s expert guidance, we learn to question our perception of our intuitive abilities and see how dismissal and apprehension can be turned into knowledge and inspiration. Through simple processes of meditation, individual and group exercises, discussion, movement, visualization techniques, and journaling for our soul, we learn how we can live more fully through understanding not only our own soul, but the world of spirits.

Specifically, we:

* Explore and remember our more insightful, abundant, and joyful self
* Discover how to use “intuition,” the language of the soul
* Discern soul patterns from former lifetimes
* Uncover the lessons in our soul’s blueprint
* Release old patterns of negative behavior and integrate the emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental selves
* Receive messages from teachers and family members in the spirit world and learn how to access them whenever we need guidance

As we become attuned to the spirit world and utilize the qualities of our “higher-self,” we are able to bring forth our soul’s innate gifts.

Wow, It’s Been a Busy Month!!!

I’ve been pretty busy with lots of good stuff going on, but… I wanted to respond to a question topic/theme that keeps coming up in the “Ask Ask a Spirit” questions.

The question is, more or less, “How do I communicate with my loved one who has crossed over?” There have been some variations – “How do I receive messages from my loved one?” “How come I’m not hearing from my loved one?”, etc. However, they all revolve around the theme of communicating with those on “the other side”.

As far as how one communicates with those who have crossed over, the answer is surprisingly simple – talk to them. You can talk to them in your head. You don’t have to do it out loud (unless of course, you want people to avoid you on the subway). Similar to “If you build it, they will come”, if you think it, they will hear. Talking to them also lets them know they’re not forgotten. You can also, should you desire, set aside a quiet time and place, put on some peaceful music and meditate. (Not my particular strong point, but that’s another story.)

They communicate with us all the time. Some folks take a while to learn how, but eventually, they will. Chances are that if they were a good communicator in life, they’ll be a pretty good communicator in the afterlife. Translation: Motormouth in life usually = motormouth on the other side. (Trust me, I have several!) I’ve posted an earlier entry a while back on the various ways The Peanut Gallery communicates with me, which may help.

The trick is that we need to be open to receiving and recognizing the signs they send us. Sometimes, we can be totally clueless and dense when it comes to recognizing signs, and wouldn’t recognize one if it jumped up and bit us in the butt! If your mother always wore lily-of-the-valley perfume, and you’re all of a sudden smelling lily-of-the-valley, HELLO!!! – that’s a sign that she’s watching over you!

Of course, sometimes, they’re really obvious about it, like the other day. I turned on my TV to watch something on the SciFi Channel, of all channels. Lo and behold, there was a member of The Peanut Gallery looking right back at me! That one was kind of freaky. Nice, but a little freaky, nonetheless.

Angelic and Psychic Awakenings

I’m pleased to announce the new Angelic and Psychic Awakenings group.

Advisors in this group come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and include psychics, mediums, angel card readers, tarot card readers and more.

Feel free to contact any advisor listed for uplifting and inspirational guidance.

So, What IS an Angel Card Reading, Anyway?

This is a question I’ve been asked on several occasions. While many people know, or have some idea of, what a Tarot card reading is, for some Angel card readings are totally unfamiliar territory.

Simply put, Angel card readings are a way to receive Angelic guidance. Just as there are many different Tarot card decks available, there are several different Angel card decks to choose from. My personal favorite deck to use is Doreen Virtue’s Archangel Oracle Cards. With an Angel card reading, the person being read focuses on either a question or situation that they’d like to receive Angelic guidance about. The reader draws the cards, reads their meanings and also tunes in to any thoughts, impressions, feelings, and/or visions they receive while reading the cards.

Sometimes, there will be a theme or common denominator running throughout the cards being read. Sometimes, the illustrations on the cards themselves will have important and relevant information. If there is a conflict in the messages on the cards read, it could be that there’s a conflict about the situation. Every card drawn is significant.

The Angels are happy to help with everyday life issues. All you have to do is ask them!

Holy Rusted Metal, Batman!!!

Within minutes after I posted my previous entry, and in all likelihood in response to  it, I just got a HUGE sign!

Before I had a chance to once again talk myself into doubting my connection, I received a call from a woman who wanted a reading. Without going into the specific personal details of the reading, all I can say is that someone came through loud and clear with some very specific details. They were the kind of details that give me goosebumps. Very clear images, which were things I’d have no way of knowing otherwise.

I still have goosebumps!

I See Dead People

Sorry, I just couldn’t resist! I’ve been dying to use that line from The Sixth Sense at least once!

I do see dead people, though. However, in case anyone’s wondering, it doesn’t work quite like what you see in movies or on television shows like Ghost Whisperer. In other words, I don’t physically see your Great Aunt Tillie standing next to you, sitting in a chair in a corner of the room, or anyplace else for that matter. Not with my two eyes, anyway. And, if I ever did, it’s a pretty safe bet that I’d be just a little freaked out by the experience – at least at first.

What I do see are very vivid mental images of people, places and things that I have no way of knowing about otherwise. Occasionally, I’ll see a glimpse of a moving shadow, but so far, no full-scale 3-D apparitions. Sometimes, they’re very brief, fleeting images that last about a second or less. Sometimes, they’re a lot more detailed, and last longer. Sometimes, they come as a series of images, all connected to the same person. For example, during a reading I did during my mediumship training weekend with James Van Praagh, I was shown a series of images related to a woman’s grandmother, which included a kitchen with sunny, curtained windows, the color green, kitchen counters with everything neat and organized, a brown refrigerator, and a dark-haired, smiling woman. During a psychometry exercise that same weekend, I saw a sunny place with trees like palm trees and black hiking boots. The woman had recently vacationed in Hawaii, and she wears black work boots when she goes out in the field on her job. Not having ever met her before, these were things I couldn’t possibly have known otherwise.

As far as my own personal group of “folks” go, sometimes the images go beyond the visual, and include physical sensations, like smell and touch. It’s similar to a memory, but a lot more intense, as if I’m actually right there experiencing it all right now. I’d chalk it up to really vivid memories, but unlike memories, these are things I haven’t done. It’s hard to describe in words, but it would be like having a flashback of something you never experienced in the first place.

I also hear a lot of stuff. One of the most popular means my “folks” have of getting my attention is through music and song lyrics. Usually, I’ll hear certain specific songs actually playing on real radios and stereos in places I’d never expect to hear them – like hearing Trini Lopez in the local Walgreens. Really, what are the odds of hearing Trini Lopez playing anywhere these days, much less in the local discount drugstore? (In case you’re wondering, my dad used to play Trini Lopez albums pretty regularly when I was a kid, many moons ago.)

My “folks” also LOVE playing around with the music on my iPod! Now, to understand this, you have to realize that I currently have well over 800 songs stored on my iPod. (Yes, I’m an addict!) A perfect example of this happened on the train ride from NYC to Rhinebeck for the October mediumship training weekend. I had my iPod set to randomly play every single song on it. The train happens to pass by Sing Sing Correctional Facility (aka Sing Sing), in Ossining, New York. To say that the place gave me a pretty creepy feeling would be an understatement. However, in an attempt to “lighten the mood” I suppose, someone thought it would be a good idea to make Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” the very next song to play on my iPod. Needless to say, the sense of humor and timing was not lost.

The other way I get the music “stuff” is in my head. Sometimes, an appropriate and meaningful tune, song name, or song lyrics will just pop into my head at just the right time – either connected to a person I’m talking with, a situation, or in answer to a question. Sometimes, I’ll get the name of a song I don’t even know. Other times, it’s like an earworm – I’ll hear the same two or three lines from a song over, and over and over and over… like the other day, when the same lines from “Bésame mucho” kept playing in my head, even though I’d only heard it once or twice before, and that was about 20 years ago. Imagine having this running through your head for a few hours! I know exactly who it came from, too. Sometimes, it’s just funny! My “folks” have a great sense of humor, and they seem to know when I need a good laugh.

It works differently for different mediums, but that’s a bit about how it all “works” for me, personally.

A Bit About Archangel Cards

My favorite to work with are the Archangel Oracle Cards, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. It’s a set of 45 cards, 3 for each of the 15 Archangels featured in the deck, plus a guide book. Each card has a different picture of an Archangel, along with a theme and short message. The book contains additional inspiring messages about each card, as well and more detailed information about each Archangel, as well as how to connect and work with them.

I have found them to be the most inspiring and accurate for me, personally. When I first opened the deck, the first thing that struck me was how colorful the images are. Anyone who knows me, knows I like colors! So, I connected to these cards visually right away! I have been amazed by the accuracy of my readings, and the guidance I’ve received, both for myself and others. They always seem to give exactly the right message and guidance at the right time.

I’ve also found them to be very easy to connect with on an level, and to interpret intuitively beyond the text in the guide book. This is something I’ve struggled with in the past with my previous card reading efforts. I’d get the general gist of what the card was saying, but not much beyond that. With the Archangel Oracle Cards, I find that I get a great deal of intuitive hits specifically related to the individual I’m reading, and the current focus of the reading.

For those who want to learn how to give readings, I’d also recommend the How to Give an Angel Reading Kit, which includes a deck of Archangel Oracle Cards, along with an instructional DVD.
